Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a lucky draw scheme for the users opting Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) or Unified Payments Service (UPI) as a payment mode for booking train tickets from the IRCTC e-ticketing website. IRCTC has started the lucky draw scheme to promote digital transactions including digital payments under Digital India Programme.
The IRCTC lucky draw scheme will be active on a daily basis for the users opting BHIM/UPI as the payment mode for booking online tickets on IRCTC e-ticketing website for two months starting from September 01, 2019. According to the official communication by the IRCTC, the users registered with the IRCTC portal will be eligible for the lucky draw scheme.
The IRCTC lucky draw scheme is open for all the registered users following which the draw will be conducted among all the users who are using BHIM/UPI payment option for booking online tickets on IRCTC including the IRCTC e-ticketing website and IRCTC mobile app.
IRCTC has declared prize money of Rs 500 each for as much as 1,000 lucky users which will be selected through a computerized random lucky draw process. The cash prize of Rs 500 will be credited in the respective payment instrument which is used to book the e-tickets.
Customer willing to participate in the lucky draw scheme is required to book the train tickets within the period of lucky draw scheme, i.e., the booking date of the PNR should fall within the lucky draw scheme period.
